#DragForAllFlavors Crack a Smile with Merrie Cherry

bubly's #dragforallflavors campaign is helping support and amplify New York City-based drag queens and kings whose performances have been put on pause since March because of the current, ongoing global health crisis.

Over the next week, we'll be interviewing some queens and kings who will help us meet all the flavors of the holiday season, as told through drag! And first up is Merrie Cherry!

In a year unlike any other, how have you remained Proud and celebrated Pride all year long?

It doesn't matter what my day, week, month, or year is like, I will always be prideful of who I am and how I live my life. Our existence is how we celebrate. We don't need a huge party. Connecting with chosen family and holding one another up, that's what's important.

What do you hope your fans will feel this holiday season when they see their favorite local drag queens and kings recognized and supported by bubly in the #dragforallflavors campaign?

We are here, we are fierce, and no virus is going to change that. We are not going anywhere. We will see y'all soon. And hit a queen up online and say hey!

As you know, bubly partnered with national advocacy group SAGE to deliver a little extra holiday spirit to our LGBTQ+ elders. How important is it to you that we continue to strengthen connections with organizations like SAGE?  

The SAGE community is our only connection to the queer past. Yeah, we have Google, but to be told about our history from someone that lived it, while looking them in the eyes and feeling every emotion that they feel while telling the story. You can't get better. I think every LGBTQ+ member should have a few elders that they are connected to. Also, the shoe will be on the other foot one day. Check yourself! 

What bubly flavor(s) will we see in your Christmas stocking?

Cherry all day every day, of course. Here's a quick recipe I love:
      - 1/2 a can of Cherry flavored bubly
      - 2 ounces of your favorite Vodka (more if you are with a atrumpnsupporting family)
      - 1 Squeezed Lime
      - 1 teaspoon Cane Sugar
