Desmond Is Amazing’s Mom Responds to Son’s 'Controversial' Performance

Desmond is Amazing is just like any other drag queen. He lip syncs, beats his face for the gods, and stones his own tights. But unlike most drag queens, he’s only 11-years-old.

One Saturday evening last December, Desmond performed at the 3 Dollar Bill, a new queer venue in Brooklyn.

Notorious gay conservative Chadwick Moore wrote a hit piece on Desmond (or rather, the gay community) for Milo Yiannopoulos’ site Dangerous with the misleading title, "10-Year-Old Boy Dances on Stage for Money at Adult Gay Bar in New York." This article sparked some outrage on social media, with opponents arguing that a boy his age shouldn’t be allowed in gay clubs, which are often highly-sexualized spaces.

On social media, Desmond’s mom clapped back to the article and all the comments about Desmond (same post on both Facebook and Instagram).
