Drag Queen Story Hour is exactly what it sounds like. In libraries across the US, drag queens come through in their best lewks and read to children.

“Drag Queen Story Hour captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity in childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models,” the website for the effort reads.

A few days ago, drag queen Xochi Mochi (from season 1 of the Boulet Brothers' Dragula) read to children at Long Beach, Calif.'s Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library. She was dressed as what can only be described as a beautiful satanic goddess.

That type of lewk is exactly what Mochi is known for, but on top of that, it was to celebrate LGBT History Month and Halloween.

Mochi took to Instagram to say, “I got to read to the children today and it was one of the best experiences I’ve been given as a drag queen.”

Needless to say, some folks were a little outraged, especially Omar Navarro, a Republican congressional candidate aiming to defeat outspoken Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters in the 43rd congressional district.

Nevertheless, it looks like all the kids were absolutely wowed and had a great time!

Thank you Xochi Mochi!!
