The Republican politician keeps embarrassing himself.

In recent months, George Santos has been accused in the press of lying on several accounts when it comes to his identity, political affiliations/positions, professional experience, and financial background. Despite having reportedly come out as gay and claiming to have a relationship with a man, Santos is a Republican politician who has supported anti-LGBTQ+ bills and has taken stances against the queer community.

An even bigger debate revolving around Santos started when alleged pictures of him doing drag resurfaced on social media. Despite visual evidence and multiple allegations from people who knew him at the time when those images were taken, Santos has kept denying that he was ever a drag performer. In his defense, Santos claimed that he was just young and attending a festival.

After being made fun of and impersonated on different late-night talk shows and comedy sketch shows, Santos took his grievances to social media. “I have now been enshrined in late night TV history with all these impersonations, but they are all TERRIBLE so far,” Santos tweeted. “Jon Lovitz is supposed to be one of the greatest comedians of all time and that was embarrassing – for him not me! These comedians need to step their game up.”

Trixie Mattel replied to Santos’ tweet with a straightforward shade. “Maybe the source material was weak,” the Drag Race superstar noted.

It’s fair to say that Santos was feeling very attacked by Trixie for coming for his gig. This prompted him to reply with a GIF of Trixie in the Snatch Game of All Stars 3, writing: “Clearly you know all about weak acting skills.”

What Santos didn’t expect was for Trixie to throw some major shade at him using his own words: “I am not an actor! I was young and I had fun at a festival!”

For context, Santos’ ultimate “read” toward Trixie garnered about 2,000 likes, whereas Trixie’s read of Santos has over 34,000 likes as of this writing. The reply section of Santos’ tweet is also filled with other people absolutely coming for him and successfully reading the politician to filth.

A Republican politician using Snatch Game references to fight with a Drag Race winner wasn’t in our 2023 bingo card, but here we are with this goofy self-own from Santos.

How did Trixie Mattel choose her name?

“Trixie” came from being called that as a kid, but reappropriating the homophobic slur for her own experience with drag. “Mattel” is a nod to the toy company that makes the Barbie doll.

Who is Trixie Mattel married to?

Trixie Mattel isn't married, but has had a partner, David Silver, for many years.

What are Trixie Mattel pronouns?

Trixie Mattel uses she/her pronouns in drag and he/him pronouns out of drag.
