The library is open, and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 winner, Goddess Sasha Colby, is ready to read conservative politicians to filth.
During an episode of The Daily Show hosted by former Drag Race guest judge Dulce Sloan, Colby, who is the second trans winner on the main stage of Drag Race, offered some thoughts on why the United States has seen a recent upswing in cis male lawmakers targeting drag performers and trans folx in places like Tennessee and Florida.
After discussing how cis men like to control other people’s bodies, Colby also noted that there are more attacks on trans women than trans men, as cis men tend to objectify trans women the same way.
“Once they objectify you and you’re living your truth, they get so mad because one, they’re jealous that they’re not living their truth,” she said. “And two, they question, ‘Why do I like this?’ For all of them, I think they just want to be in drag, or, they probably went in drag, and then they looked awful. [George] Santos?”
When Sloan agreed that Santos was probably “bitter” because he didn’t look good in drag, Colby added Santos was a “bitter, bitter booger, honey.”
“She couldn’t find a mother,” Colby joked of Santos, who has previously been accused of being the drag performer Kitara Ravache. “They said, ‘No, lost cause. Call CPS.’”
The interview concluded with Colby adopting Sloan as her drag baby and joking about giving birth again, to which Sloan quipped, “All the water done broke! Listen, somebody get this placenta wrapped up, I’m ready!”
