Disney proves, once again, it's king of the jungle!
Turning their classic animated films into live-action adaptations has proved to not only be financially lucrative, but also wildly successful with fans. Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book are just a few of the smash-hits to grace the silver screen in recent years, and the trend doesn't seem to be slowing anytime soon. Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid and others are already in the works, and today Disney announced their plans to partner with The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau to, once again, bring one of the most popular animated films to life: The Lion King.
We can only hope the film's classic music and beautiful visuals remain. But knowing Favreau is at the helm should please many fans. Will the film be updated at all for modern audiences? One fan has a few ideas:
