Be honest with yourself.
Living in a world with heterosexual people makes loving and dating as a queer person incredibly difficult. Most of us — some purposely and some accidentally — have ended up chasing a straight person at one time or another. We all know that one person who is always chasing someone they can't have, and the person who is obsessed with straight people (whether it's them specifically, or the drama and the chase). You try to talk some sense into them — or yourself, if that's the case — but it rarely works. In many ways, it feels like an intervention is needed to tell our queer friends and family to quit pursuing straight people.
Capturing the essence of this struggle, BuzzFeed released an intervention-style video, aptly titled "I’m Addicted To Straight Girls."
Share it with the people in your life who really need it or tag them on social media. Do them a favor. If the person in the video is definitely you, I want to say that you need help and that I'm here for you.
