It's an interesting ice-breaker saying that over 100,000 people saw you and your ex breakup. I call it "couples-vlogging." It's been a thing on YouTube since 2010ish...but only got really popular last year. If you have a girlfriend, you better be recording it for all of the world to see. Some do it for fun and some know the loyal fandoms / shippers that come with the territory. In saying that, it can go REALLY good, or REALLY bad. I've seen more lesbian and gay couple channels pop-up and then die out after the break-up than I can count on two hands. And some of them (which are good friends of mine) are still doing incredibly well. Here are my top 10 favorite gay and lesbian online couples.
Whitney and Megan : YouTube.com/WhatWeganDidNext
.
Whitney and Megan met on Myspace. Whitney was in Hawaii and Megan in the UK. The two documented their trips back and forth to each other for 3 years. Megan proposed to Whitney on a beach in Hawaii and the two tied the knot in the UK in September, 2012.
Matt and Nick : YouTube.com/Lush
Most YouTube couples started vlogging a few months or a few years into the relationship. It's incredibly difficult to have your life shared online, dealing with all the judgement from others and having enough time to spend with your bf/gf outside of work. Matt decided to document his journey with Nick from day 0. In the video posted above, we see how Matt asked Nick out. 7 months later, they're still going strong.
Bria and Chrissy : YouTube.com/BriaAndChrissy
Bria and Chrissy met at a bar on Chrissy's first night out as a self proclaimed lesbian. The two hit it off instantly. Known best for their duo singing and acting talents, they have just over 130,000 loyal subscribers and now, a daily vlog.
Mark and Ethan :YouTube.com/MarkEMiller
Mark and Ethan are 10+months and going strong. The two document their travels, their love and their lives.
Ebony and Denise : YouTube.com/OliviaHas2Moms
Ebony and Denise are a two mom family living in upstate NY. Ebony (the birth mom) is called "Mommy" and Denise, "Mama." The two document their lives weekly to spread love and show that two mom familes are the new "ordinary."
