"Cynthia is wowing audiences in Wicked, breathing a new life into the 20-year-old character with her nuanced interpretation," Reneé Rapp said.

Wicked star Cynthia Erivo and Mean Girls’ Reneé Rapp shared a moment on stage at the Out100 event on Wednesday night.

The two multiple-hyphenated artists recently made waves with their Musicians on Musicians interview for Rolling Stone. During the interview, the stars spoke about their appreciation for one another, and Rapp told Erivo that her performance in Broadway’s The Color Purple led her to pursue her own career in music and acting.

"You started performing, and I was like, 'OK, she’s just different. On another planet, on another level,'” Rapp said to Erivo in the interview.

On stage Wednesday the two were reunited for an adorable moment between two queer (and both Capricorn) legends where Rapp, along with Out editor-in-chief Daniel Reynolds, presented Erivo her award as the Out100 Icon of the Year.

"When I was 17, I had an ex-boyfriend, right? And we used to get super high in his college dorm room and watch videos of Cynthia singing in The Last Five Years. And I was like, I think she's the hottest person I've ever seen. I also think no one's voice is like that, just that kind of ever. And now everybody knows the thing," Rapp recalled while introducing Erivo.

Rapp went on to list Erivo's accolades and what she's accomplished with her latest role.

"Cynthia is wowing audiences in Wicked, breathing a new life into the 20-year-old character with her nuanced interpretation and her goaded interpretation," Rapp said. "As a queer black woman, she's allowing people who've never seen themselves in Elphaba to identify with her more deeply. And that's critical for visibility for those who need it."

Rapp wrapped up her introduction by saying, "Simply put, Cynthia's talent and impact are unlimited."
