Rosario Dawson just came out! Kind of? I think?
Fans have long questioned the Josie & the Pussycats star’s sexuality, particularly after a 2018 Instagram post in which she wished a happy Pride to her “fellow lgbtq+ homies.”
“happy pride month! sending love to my fellow lgbtq+ homies. keep being strong in the face of adversity. loud & proud. here’s a little throwbyke to last year,” she wrote at the time, reposting someone else’s video.
Dawson never clarified what she meant, though many took that to mean she was a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Now, in a recent interview with Bustle, she’s given us a little bit more clarity.
“People kept saying that I [came out]…I didn’t do that,” she said. “I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come out come out. I mean, I guess I am now.”
Bustle notes that she “quickly pivot[ed] to remove herself from the equation, clarifying: ‘I’ve never had a relationship in that space, so it’s never felt like an authentic calling to me.’”
Dawson, who has taken on queer roles in the past, such as on Jane the Virgin, didn’t get any more specific about her sexuality, but “I guess I am [coming out]” sure feels like she belongs somewhere in the LGBTQ+ community.
She is currently dating former presidential hopeful Cory Booker.
Rachel Kiley is presumably a writer and definitely not a terminator. She can usually be found crying over queerbaiting in the Pitch Perfect franchise or on Twitter, if not both.
