Drag Race Star Valentina Comes Out As Nonbinary
"I feel like a goddess. I feel like I’m my own gender."
RuPaul's Drag Race All Star Valentina opened up about her gender identity to Out Magazine.
“I identify as nonbinary,” she explained. “I don’t completely feel like a man, I don’t completely feel like a woman. I feel like a goddess. I feel like I’m my own gender.”
Out reports that the 27-year-old, who will star in FOX's upcoming production of Rent Live as Angel, will still go by she/her pronouns. Valentina's excited to tackle the character of Angel and bring her own identity to the beloved role.
“I get to bring that aspect to my Angel character and really have an idea of like, ‘Why is she so happy and so confident in her armor, in her drag?’”
Rent: Live airs on FOX on Sunday, January 27.
