If you were a sentient being in 2006, you might remember the Top 40 hit 'For You I Will (Confidence)' by teenage heartthrob Teddy Geiger. Although Geiger may no longer be in the spotlight, they spend their time writing hit songs for other pop acts like OneDirection and Shawn Mendes, and still has a loyal legion of followers.

One of Geiger's fans asked about the singer-songwriter's noticible changes in appearance, and they took the moment to reveal that they are in fact transitioning.

"I am transitioning," wrote Geiger. "I started talking about it with a couple of my close friends and family about a month ago and it's given me the courage to start the process. I feel like the next step is to tell all y'all.

"So here goes. Love it or hate this is who I have been for a loooooong time. I love u guys."

Geiger has been overwhelmed with love and support from their friends and fans, and posted another Instragm photo thanking their supporters.

Woke up to so much love. I have the best friends.
