Olympic runner Yared Nuguse is celebrating a different kind of victory with the world after hard launching his boyfriend on social media.

Nuguse has been making waves in the running world for several years now. Most recently, he took home a bronze medal in the 1500-meter race as part of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

And as it turns out, he had somebody special cheering him on as he did.

"Introducing my boyfriend, Julian," Nuguse wrote on Instagram over the weekend. "Can’t believe we’re already one year in my love."

According to Sportskeeda, this relationship reveal also serves as Nuguse’s public coming out. Presumably, the cheeky parenthetical at the end of his Instagram caption reinforces this.

"(Don’t act so surprised)," he added.

Fans and friends alike rushed to congratulate the two on their happiness, with heart emojis flooding the comments section of Nuguse’s Instagram post.

"Love this - you will inspire so many!!!" wrote one person, while fellow middle-distance runner George Beamish called the post "fantastic content."

"Sheesh, as if you weren’t inspiring enough already!" @runningkindalate said. "Queer visibility in sport means a lot to a lot of people. Appreciate you, man."

Congratulations to the happy couple!
