Halloween is nigh and while many people are still scrambling to put together a costume ahead of this National Gay Holiday, the internet has taken it upon itself to craft some hilarious hypothetical ones.

What began as a simple meme template where internet users could insert whatever they wanted on Spirit Halloween packaging has devolved into chaos. Earlier this week, the brand even had to respond to a fake "Gay Gay" package, which featured a plain-dressed man wearing a rainbow flag draped over his shoulders. "This is not an officially licensed costume from our company," Spirit tweeted to concerned patrons. "Photoshopping our packages seems to be trending at the moment. We will be passing this to our review team. Thank you for bringing this to our attention."

From there, the photoshop jobs have only escalated – and got funnier and funnier. Whether they're brutally honest reflections of real-life cringey people or hyper-specific RuPaul's Drag Race references, there's definitely something for everyone. Even celebrities like Kim Petras, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Maren Morris, and Lil Nas X have joined in on the silliness.

Prepare to scroll through some of our favorite Spirit Halloween memes! Take some notes if you like, but for the love of god don't be Jeffrey Dahmer.

We're definitely ready for Halloween now!
