Gay comedian shares his bold — & hilarious — take on Pride Month & we're shaking our heads
Is Pride Month too long? Comedian Oscar Aydin is taking a bold stance in a new episode of TikTok's "Subway Takes" that viewers have deemed "a hall of fame episode."
For the uninitiated, "Subway Takes" features host Kareem Rahma conducting interviews with a twist you'll undoubtedly be able to guess from the name alone — it all takes place on the subway. More specifically, his guests generally share their hot take on a topic of their choice.
"I don't think we need a month for Pride," Aydin shared at the top of his episode. "Give us a week. I think a week is fine. Gays are very good at packing a lot of shit into one week. But a month? No."
While Aydin himself is gay, it's an opinion homophobes who love crying over rainbow merchandise and their imaginary version of a gay agenda would likely share, albeit for extremely different reasons.
But...he's got a point. A whole month for Pride is a lot, and as Rahma pointed out, condensing it might make it more like one "real big celebration."

"Like Mardis Gras," he suggested.
Things took a hard turn after that, as the two debated between which event counts as "straight pride," Mardis Gras or...January 6th.
"January 6th was probably the gayest thing I've ever seen in my entire life," Aydin argued. "You've got all these men standing around the Capitol. A lot of them are shirtless, in costumes, and have face paint. That's a gay pride parade. And then they're all there 'cause they're what? Obsessed with a man? Okay."
If January 6th is going to be the new gay pride, well, we might as well just throw out the whole thing.
