Is It Gay to Order Dessert, Fellas? According to This Tweet It Is

I guess that makes me gay AF then...

We know there's a lot of things that mean a person is gay (having a physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction to someone of the same sex being the primary and most obvious thing), but did you know that one of those things includes something as mundane as...ordering dessert??

Yup, you read that right. That's the odd, roundabout conclusion one Twitter user came up with in a bizarre tweet thread about what they consider "red flags" while on a first date.

"A guy ordering dessert on a date is a red flag for me," Twitter user @ms_fishscale said in recent tweet. "That’s a female thing to do."

I guess only women can enjoy dessert?? But wait, it all gets even better! The reasoning behind this kind of thinking? It's not "manly" for a guy to be ordering dessert while on a date, and he's less than if he does. (Seriously, we can't this stuff up!!)

"If a guy is on a date with a woman, the woman should be the only one asking for appetizers and dessert," they continued. "Men eat MEALS. Like seriously. You can just taste some of whatever I ordered."

There's a lot to unpack here, but the most obvious being that it's so incredibly weird to use something as innocuous or inconsequential as enjoying sweet foods as a measure of someone's "manliness." Luckily, other Twitter users were having absolutely none of this weirdly toxic mindset and were quick to call it out.

*sigh*

If you need me, my femme, gay AF self will be in the kitchen eating a rainbow-colored cake or something since that's the fruity thing to do, I guess...
