That's a little too much policing going on there.

Cardi B isn’t playing around after a Twitter account seemed to question her bisexuality.

For whatever reason, some Twitter account decided to throw together an extremely short list of celebrities they claim “came out as bisexual but never dated someone of the same gender.”

The list included Harry Styles (who still declines to label his sexuality), Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish (who also has not come out as bisexual, FYI), and Cardi B.

The account then went on to claim “receipts” in the form of listing men Gaga and Cardi have been publicly linked with, call Cardi and another woman touching tongues queerbaiting, and provide a list of “actual bisexual icons.”

As one would think most people understand by now, sexuality isn’t about who you have actively dated, but about who you are attracted to and how you identify that attraction, meaning the onus isn’t on bisexual people to collect exes like Pokémon to be validated.

Even still, Cardi responded to the tweet with a reminder that not every aspect of celebrities’ lives is a matter of public record.

People were quick to defend her and anyone else identifying as bisexual, including sharing old video of the rapper actually talking about having a girlfriend.

There’s also reason to believe the media doesn’t always catch on when a celebrity is dating someone of the same gender, or at least doesn’t report it. Kesha, for instance, has spoken publicly about dating women in the past but said the paparazzi didn’t realize they were more than friends. And who could possibly forget the amount of time tabloids iconically spent calling Kristen Stewart’s first girlfriend her “gal pal?”

But at the end of the day, Cardi doesn’t owe anyone proof of her sexuality, and neither does anyone else. It’s not complicated!
