Jason Momoa shaved his head for a good cause!

Jason Momoa first made his mark in Hollywood after appearing on shows like Baywatch: Hawaii and Stargate Atlantis in the 2000s, but his real career breakthrough happened as he brought to life the complex character of Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Since then, Momoa has become a household name and a true action movie star. And, let's be a honest, a total dream boat.

When Momoa first joined the DC Extended Universe to play Aquaman (a.k.a. Arthur Curry), certain fans had a knee-jerk reaction against it given how different the actor looked to the classic character in the comic books. Over time, though, Momoa became synonymous with Aquaman and won over all of those people who doubted him in the beginning. The actor also went on to become a Hollywood sex symbol not only for his good looks but also for his charismatic nature and charming personality.

Besides playing Aquaman in the DCEU franchise, Momoa is now also known for his key roles in films and TV shows like Frontier, See, and Dune. In 2023, the Hawaiian actor will not only star in the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom sequel, but he will also appear in the landmark 10th installment in the Fast & Furious franchise – Fast X. And yet, it is clear that Momoa doesn’t just think about his career. The actor, who is often very mindful when it comes to social justice and environmental issues, has now gone a step further in his efforts to bring attention to different causes.

Momoa kicked off this week posting an Instagram video shaving off his iconic long hair. While shaving it, the actor urged people to limit or cut their reliance on single-use plastics in order to help the environment. Specifically, Momoa talked about being in Hawaii at the moment and seeing a lot of plastic products in the ocean, which compelled him to take action and call attention to this issue.
