Jason Aldean is in need of new publicists following his wife’s pivot to public transphobia last week.
The GreenRoom has repped the country singer for 17 years, but seems to have no desire to deal with everything Brittany Aldean is currently opting to wade into, as well as the impact it may have on her husband’s career.
“Music has always been and remains The GreenRoom’s core focus, so we had to make the difficult decision after 17 years to step away from representing Jason,” co-owner Tyne Parrish said in a statement. “We aren’t the best people for the gig anymore, but will always be big fans of his music — he is one of the greatest live entertainers in country music.”
Brittany drew attention last week for an Instagram post in which she thanked her parents “for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.” After being called out for pushing the conservative fearmongering that parents are forcing their children to be trans and that it’s just something they’ll grow out of — like a tomboy phase — she doubled down on those claims.
Since then, she has appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to claim she was “advocating for children” and expressed concern over the idea of children being able to “choose their gender so young” – ignoring, of course, that they are assigned one at birth regardless.
“People are entitled to their opinions, but that’s just it — we as conservatives have a very hard time having an opinion, especially in society today,” she claimed. “It’s very, very sad, but [I’ve had] a lot of support within Nashville and just friends and family, for sure.”
Brittany also launched a line of clothing with the slogan “Don’t Tread on Kids,” while insisting that her words had been taken out of context at the same time.
Even though Jason has largely stayed out of the fray, he did comment on her initial post thanking her parents for not changing her gender, writing, “Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”
