Demi Lovato is Reportedly Dating a Mystery Musician

Demi Lovato is finding love once again.

A source has confirmed to E! News that the singer is in “a healthy relationship with a musician boyfriend,” reassuring fans that Lovato is doing great while also sparking curiosity about who this mystery BF might be.

The former Disney star was previously in a whirlwind relationship with Max Ehrich in the early days of the pandemic, going from initial rumors that they were dating in March 2020 to announcing their engagement by July of the same year.

However, that relationship was apparently not meant to last. Just two months later, the seemingly dreamy engagement had been called off, and Lovato seemed to be spending her time exploring her identity in regard to both her career and her personal life.

“When I started getting older, I started realizing how queer I really am,” they told Glamour last year. “This past year, I was engaged to a man, and when it didn’t work, I was like, ‘This is a huge sign.’ I thought I was going to spend my life with someone. Now that I wasn’t going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth.’”

Although Lovato’s queerness was already pretty clear from her “Cool for the Summer” days, she officially came out as pansexual in March 2021 and as nonbinary two months later. She currently uses both she/her and they/them pronouns.

The singer hasn’t been romantically linked on an official basis with anyone since Ehrich. And considering how public that was — along with the suggestion that the split ultimately came because he allegedly became obsessed with using Lovato’s fame to further his own career — it makes sense that Lovato would keep their new relationship a little quieter.

That won’t stop fans from wanting to know all the details about her mystery man. For now, though, the anonymous source’s vague note that “he’s a super great guy” is the best we're going to get.
