Drag Race UK Star Bimini Has Has A Record Deal & New Music On The Way
“I feel like we can take over the world together.”
Bing, bang, bong! Drag Race UK break-out star Bimini has new music on the way.
Music Week reports that Bimini has signed with Relentless Records, which is part of Sony Music UK, following the success of their single “God Save This Queen” last year (the track has over a million plays as of this writing).
“Signing with Relentless is a dream come true,” Bimini told Music Week. “It’s amazing because they understand my vision and want to achieve it with me, and I feel like we can take over the world together. I’m excited for what the future will hold.”
“From the moment you meet Bimini you think, ‘here is a real artist in all senses of the word’ – highly individual, bags of character and great musical taste,” Relentless founder Shabs Jobanputra said. “Team Relentless is looking forward to joining the journey that Bimini is on and helping where we can. We are very proud she has joined Relentless Records,” he added.
Since their legendary run on season two of Drag Race UK, Bimini has been breaking down barriers right and left. They’ve walked the runway for Richard Quinn at London Fashion Week, signed with NEXT model management, become an author, covered GQ Style, appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox, and guest-edited The Independent’s “Now Hear This” newsletter — and so much more. It seems there’s nothing this queen can’t do. So really, is it a surprise they’re about to take the music industry by storm?
“I’ve worked with Bimini since they appeared on Drag Race UK a year-and-a-half ago, and we’ve collaborated on many boundary-pushing projects in that time to reach the stage where they could sign with a major label via the team at Massive,” Simon Jones, Bimini’s co-manager and publicist said. “Signing with Relentless is the culmination of lots of hard work. We’re so excited to be working with such a great team and for the bright future I know is ahead.”
