They’ll star in Pedro Almodóvar’s new movie.

Hollywood A-listers Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke have been cast on Pedro Almodóvar’s new film, which is being described as the director’s “answer to Brokeback Mountain.”

For context, Almodóvar was reportedly considered to direct Brokeback Mountain back in 2005 but felt like the film was “too Hollywood,” which led him to turn it down. Iconically, Almodóvar said in interviews that Brokeback Mountain “could not have these two guys f*cking all the time” – which he thought was necessary for the story being told.

Best known for playing Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, Javier Peña on Narcos, and Maxwell Lord on Wonder Woman 1984, Pascal has recently made waves for being the titular character on Disney+’s The Mandalorian.

In turn, Hawke has had a long and incredibly successful movie career that includes classic films such as Training Day, Boyhood, and the Before Sunrise trilogy. In 2022, Hawke also entered the Disney+ universe by playing the Arthur Harrow (the main villain) on Moon Knight.

Almodóvar’s statements pertaining to Brokeback Mountain has fans thinking that this new film featuring Pascal and Hawke will be much racier than the 2005 queer classic. As such, this feels like the perfect time to thirst over a few shirtless photos of these acclaimed actors.
