It looks like Ezra Miller’s actions might finally have some consequences.
The actor was arrested last month in Hawaii after getting angry at some people singing karaoke at a bar. This isn’t the first time the star of DC’s upcoming Flash movie has found themself under public scrutiny for bad behavior, but Rolling Stone claims this incident has prompted a strategy meeting from the studios.
A source told the publication that executives Warner Bros. and DC called an “emergency meeting” at the end of March to discuss whether or not Miller still has a future in their films. They also claimed that while nothing is official yet, the decision was made to “hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe.”
Miller’s arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment was also followed by a restraining order request from the couple involved, who claim the actor threatened them after being released on bail and stole personal and financial items from them.
These aren’t the only incidents Miller has reportedly had in Hawaii, and even prior to all of this, there was that nasty business about them getting caught on video choking a female fan — something they never addressed.
That Warner Bros and DC might finally be concerned that Miller is a liability after all of this comes as no surprise, although another studio source has reportedly denied claims of an emergency meeting.
The Flash film is currently slated to be released in June 2023, after several delays. Miller also played the same role in several prior films, and has appeared in the Fantastic Beasts franchise for Warner Bros.
