The rapper's Rolling Loud Miami performance has not been well received.
Following his set at Rolling Loud, DaBaby is trending for all the wrong reasons.
The 'Rockstar' rapper performed his set in Miami last night and on top of bringing out problematic rapper Tory Lanez, who allegedly shot DaBaby's former collaborator Megan Thee Stallion last year, he also made several homophobic comments.
During a break between songs, he addressed the crowd. "If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up."
He continued with more concerning sentiments. "Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
In the video, you can then hear another person on stage adding, “Let’s be real about this shit, some of y’all n****s suspect as a motherfucker.”
He's being called out on Twitter for his homophobic and factually incorrect comments.
“So now that we know DaBaby is explicitly homophobic; let’s stop going back and forth about his stance on anything else and cut the nigga off 🙏🏾”— Obi Does (@Obi Does) 1627265745
“dababy being homophobic talking about spreading HIV/AIDS while performing in front of a crowd of 1000s of ppl in a global pandemic is a juicy contradiction”— ambitious (@ambitious) 1627269362
“@_anichelle I like Dababy and everything he’s very handsome and a great rapper, but with all the women he keep running up in he needs to be more concerned about his own HIV status and not homosexuals. Duh anyone can get and spread HIV… duh 🙄 it’s 2021 homophobia is not ok”— ambitious (@ambitious) 1627269362
“@MusicXclusives No one is more suspect than a “straight” man that’s always invested in what gay men are doing.”— MUSICXCLUSIVES (@MUSICXCLUSIVES) 1627266586
While it's unclear why DaBaby felt the need to speak on people living with HIV/AIDS or parking lot BJs, it was clear that the crowd wasn't completely pleased with his performance as someone threw their shoe at the rapper mid-set.
“Whoever threw that shoe at dababy, you are doing the Lords work. 👏🏽

”— your ultimate 🅿️lug  (@your ultimate 🅿️lug ) 1627266147
DaBaby's words and actions come as a big disappointment to many fans. His words are blantanly aimed at the LGBTQ+ community on top of spreading misinformation. HIV/AIDS is treatable and people who have it can live full lives with medication. Once they are undetectable, they cannot spread the virus.
