The Grammy winner dressed up as everyone's favorite fairytale mermaid, and now the internet is freaking out.

Have you ever wondered what Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Harry Styles would look like dressed as a drinkin', smokin', low-budget version of Ariel from Disney's beloved classic animated film The Little Mermaid? Welp, today must be your lucky day because pictures of the "Watermelon Sugar" crooner donning a red, shake-and-go wig, a white seashell bra, and a green, Party City-looking mermaid tail are going viral, and it is exactly the kind of chaotic quirkiness we needed to lift our spirits up on this Friday afternoon!

The pictures are apparently outtakes from a promo photoshoot he did while hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2019, and although we're not sure why they didn't make the cut, we're glad we finally get to see Harry living his budget-friendly, under-the-sea, Ariel fantasy! And of course, so were the stans!

What makes these photos all the more hilarious is the fact that Harry was actually being considered for the role of Prince Eric, Ariel's human lover, for Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, but he ultimately turned down the part, saying at the time, he wanted to focus solely on his music.

"I want to put music out and focus on that for a while," the "Adore You" singer explained in a 2019 interview with The Face. "But everyone involved in it was amazing, so I think it’s going to be great. I’ll enjoy watching it, I’m sure."

He might not be our Prince Eric, but Harry Styles will now always be our Ariel!
