Lil Mama wants to start the official "Heterosexual Rights Movement." (Yes, you read that right.)
The 31-year-old rapper, reality TV personality, and former America's Best Dance Crew judge took to Instagram stories to share with her followers her plans to "Start a Heterosexual Rights Movement" in an effort to curb "Anti-LGBTQ Bullying" (that is, the bullying she feels is coming from the queer community that is directed towards straight people).
"Y’all fight so hard to be respected and SOME of you, NOT ALL, get a kick out bullying people for having an option, how they dress, how their hair and or makeup looks, how much money they have, etc.," she wrote in her IG Story post. "There are so many people afraid to give their honest opion (sic) because if they do the LGBTQ+ will hear what they want to hear and take statements out of context."
She continued:
"I don’t have to prove myself by reminding people that I have loved ones of the LGBTQ+ Community. When I speak I’m not trying to hurt anyone, I’m just speaking my truth, just like you all."
But what sparked all of this, you ask?
According to a report from The Grio, the "Lip Gloss" and "Girlfriend" rapper came under major fire last week after reposting a crude tweet that insinuated that trans children, like Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union's daughter Zaya Wade, are too young to recognize their own gender identity.
"So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a driver's license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car, but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or 'change' their gender? This is insanity," the transphobic tweet Lil Mama reposted to her IG Story read.
"DEPOPULATION AT ANY COST CAT FIGHTS SWORD FIGHTS," Lil Mama's own caption of the tweet read. "Used be a cat now ima dog WHATEVER TO STOP NEW LIFE REPRODUCTION."
So apparently, Lil Mama's new "Heterosexual Rights Movement" is in response to rightful criticism she faced from resharing and spotlighting transphobic talking points.
As expected, the Twitterverse was having absolutely none of whatever Lil Mama was trying to serve...
If "Heterosexual Rights" is anything like that disastrous "Straight Pride" Parade that happened a few years back, then we already know the "movement" is dead in the water.
