The Olympian shared the exciting news on Instagram!

We may still be in the middle of a panny and there's not a lot of good news going on these days, but always love it when good things happen to good people — like retired professional figure skater and Olympic bronze medalist Adam Rippon announcing that he is officially engaged to his longtime beau Jussi-Pekka Kajaala!

The 31-year-old out athlete and passionate LGBTQ+ activist took to Instagram to share snaps of he and his boyfriend (now fiancé) Jussi-Pekka Kajaala (who hails from Finland) rocking their engagement rings and drinking some bubbly to celebrate!

"JP and I didn’t get to see each other for almost all of 2020 because of the pandemic," he wrote in the caption, talking about how much he missed Jussi-Pekka during this ongoing global health crisis. "When there was finally a chance for me to go and see him in Finland, I jumped at it. I was there for a little over two months. While I was there, I would tell him about five million jokes that I would want to pitch during my 5-hour zoom meetings for our NBC comedy. And he would drive me into the Finnish forest where I would attempt to try and "help" him shovel snow so he could keep working on the cottage he’s building. So, in between all that and binging the entire 4 seasons of The Crown, we bought ourselves some rings and said that magic word..."Duh!" We got ~*engaged*~"

"We were super ready to do it," Adam said in a recent interview with Good Morning America where he revealed that he and Jussi-Pekka actually got engaged in December of 2020, but that they are just making it public to their fans and supporters now. "It’s time, it’s exciting."

Congrats, Adam and Jussi-Pekka! We love love!
