Billy Porter's Grammys Look Has Already Inspired a New Meme
This is the content the people want.
Billy Porter never misses an opportunity to make some sort of immediately iconic fashion statement on the red carpet, and last night was no exception.
The Pose star showed up to the Grammys in a sparkling blue outfit topped off by a hat with its own motorized crystal curtain that hypothetically stays open but can easily dramatically roll shut if Porter needs some alone time.
The hat was pulled from Scott Studenberg’s collection of bucket hats with crystal fringe from the Baja East fall collection, according to a Vanity Fair piece on Porter’s Grammys look. But they had to come up with a way to make sure Porter’s face could actually be seen, as he isn’t planning on going full Sia any time soon.
“The inspiration came to me to construct a hat that would mechanically move the fringe to dramatically reveal that queen’s face,” said Porter’s stylist, Sam Ratelle.
And the new iconic look was created.
While Porter’s outfits always gain attention, this one is so fantastical that it’s actually already become meme-worthy, and we’re so very here for its contribution to internet culture.

Keep doing the Lord's work, Mr. Porter! The world needs you!
