The Queer Eye stars are continuing to branch out into new projects, and as long as it means we keep getting to see more of them, who could ever complain?
To that end, fashion guru Tan France is headed to a special edition of another show everyone loves — The Great British Bake Off. Only, this version of the popular baking show will see celebrities compete to raise money money for Stand Up to Cancer. So we have good treats and good TV for a good cause!
The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer has already gone through two competitions in previous years, and has featured British stars like John Lithgow, Russell Tovey, Teri Hatcher, and Tim Minchin.
Each episode features four celebrities facing off against one another in a test of their baking skills until one is ultimately crowned the Star Baker. Other celebs who will be competing in this year’s charity series include Richard Dreyfuss, James Blunt, and Joe Sugg.
“The Great Celebrity Bake Off is a key ingredient in our Stand Up to Cancer recipe,” said Sarah Lazenby, Head of Formats and Features at Channel 4. “We’ve seen the power of using comedy and entertainment to bring awareness and raise millions of pounds to fund pioneering cancer trials. We hope viewers will enjoy this year’s line-up of famous bakers, there’s never a dough moment as each bring something fresh and exciting to the tent.”
France certainly can’t be accused of slacking in between seasons of Queer Eye. It was also announced back in May that he would be one of the hosts of a new fashion design competition show for Netflix, called Next in Fashion. The show is slated to premiere on the streaming service at the end of this month.
As for the celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off, an exact premiere date hasn't yet been announced, but it's expected to hit the British airwaves early this year.
