Queer Eye's Antoni Talks Being a Sex Symbol, Sexuality, & Taylor Swift

"I’m not going to be naive and pretend like I don’t engage in that part of my image."

Our favorite foodie, Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski, sat down for an in-depth interview with Joseph Shepherd, and the tea is piping hot.

At this point, we've all thirsted over Antoni's underwear campaigns and Shephard asked a question we've been dying to know the answer to: Does Antoni consider himself a sex symbol?

"I’m not going to be naive and pretend like I don’t engage in that part of my image," Antoni began. "But it’s something that is very entertaining for me. My intention for it...I think everything for me, my big message for anything I do whether it’s an endorsement, or posing in my underwear, whether it’s a photographer or a brand deal like Tom Ford for underwear. It’s always me checking my intentions and it’s figuring out why am I doing what I’m doing."

He continued:

"If I’m doing something just for purely validation and because I want attention, then I know that I called that "McDonald’s Syndrome." It feels good for five minutes, like watching bad reality TV, you feel like garbage but then you want more or is there something else with it. I think that’s the part I was referencing earlier that I’m a bit of a troublemaker, the sex symbol part is that."

But don't get your hopes up, thirsty guys and dolls. If you're wondering about Antoni's relationship status, he's "single and not available." He's taking some time to focus on himself!

Antoni went on to talk about how Queer Eye helped him get more comfortable with his sexual fluidity, managing his addiction and depression, his new cookbook, and hanging out with Taylor Swift.

"We've had some dinners and I've got to know her and my real connection to her was we were playing music," said Antoni. "I was playing music by The National and um, I think it was the song "Slow Show" which is my favorite song by them and [Taylor Swift] started singing it, like humming it. And I was like what the fuck. And she was like "Oh! I love The National." And I was like bullshit. And then I would play a random song like "The Geese of Beverly Road" and she was like that's the lyric or I would play one and she would guess which song it was and I was like you are as much of a fan as I am."

Antoni in the Kitchen is out September 9. Watch the full interview below.
