Juggernaut TV writer/producer Greg Berlanti and his husband, former pro soccer player Robbie Rogers, announced the birth of their second child earlier this week.

“Welcome to the world Mia Barbara Rogers-Berlanti,” Berlanti wrote. “5/13/19. Our hearts and our family have grown even larger.”

Mia was born the day after Rogers’ own birthday.

“I couldn’t have dreamt up a more perfect way to celebrate my birthday,” he said on Instagram.

Rogers and Berlanti were married back in December 2017 after a year long engagement and the birth of their first child, Caleb.

“There is nothing I’ve wanted more, or waited for longer, than to be a father,” Berlanti said when his first child was born. “Achieving this dream would not have been possible without the love and support of my wonderful family and surrogate, incredible boyfriend, amazing friends and co-workers that encouraged me on this remarkable journey.”

Berlanti noted that the newest addition to their fam was named after his mother: “The ‘Barbara’ is for my amazing Mom. Who, though she’s not here to share in this moment, will be watching over her granddaughter Mia forever.”

While we don’t doubt his intentions, it’s difficult not to notice that Mia and Barbara are both very relevant DC ‘verse names (Speedy and Batgirl/Oracle, obv). While the prolific producer has a record 18 shows set to air across networks this upcoming season, he is best known for executive producing the slate of DCTVU shows on The CW.
