It’s been awhile since Shane Dawson has had to apologize for an ill-conceived joke, but it was bound to happen again eventually.

This time, the YouTuber had to issue an apology for an old “joke” claiming he ejaculated on his cat.

Dawson told the story on a podcast in 2015, the same year he came out as bisexual, but presented it as an actual thing that had happened.

Now, he says, it was just “based on a dumb awful sketch idea.”

“i didnt fuck my cat,” he tweeted. “i didnt cum on my cat. i didnt put my dick anywhere near my cat. Ive never done anything weird with my cats.”

He went on to explain that most of his past YouTube personality was based on the idea of shock value, and agrees that joking about sex acts with his cat was “DISGUSTING and VERY VERY DUMB.”

It’s certainly not the first time Dawson has been embroiled in controversy for something outrageous.

Last year, he had to apologize for making a comment on the same podcast back in 2013 referring to a six-year-old girl as “sexy.”

He also apologized in 2014 for the years and years he spent performing in blackface on his videos, saying that it was “just stupid and [he] shouldn’t have done it.”

Dawson seems pretty adamant that he's changed as a person and learned to not make such absurd, disgusting comments, and hopefully if more things come around that require an apology, they will all be from his past and not the present.

Shane Dawson supposedly never fucked his cat. Good. Cool. Honestly, this is so bizarre, what else can you even say about it.
