After Demi Lovato was spotted holding hands with lesbian DJ Lauren Abedini earlier this month, speculations on her sexuality began to fly on social media.
In a new interview with Pride Source, Lovato declined to respond to any of the rumors: "Thank you for the opportunity, but I think I'm gonna pass."
"I love who I love," Lovato explained. "I just feel like everyone's always looking for a headline and they always want their magazine or TV show or whatever to be the one to break what my sexuality is. I feel like it's irrelevant to what my music is all about."
The passionate LGBT ally thinks it's important to keep some parts of her life private.
"I stand up for the things that I believe in and the things that I'm passionate about, but I like to keep my personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with my music," she said. "Unfortunately, we live in a world where everyone is trying to get that soundbite and I am purposefully not giving the soundbite."
However, Demi did say she will open up about her sexuality in her upcoming YouTube documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, coming out on October 12th. "If ever I want to talk about it, I want it to be on my own terms," said the former Disney star.
Lovato has hinted at being bisexual in the past. She's previously said her 2015 bi-curious hit "Cool for the Summer" was "based off of personal experiences."
Lovato’s sixth studio album, Tell Me You Love Me, is out September 29.
