One of our favorite comedic superstars, Aubrey Plaza, shared some great news with The Advocate in a new interview yesterday. While chatting all about objectifying Zac Efron, making out with Natasha Lyonne, and her new movie Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, she also opened up about her own sexuality. When asked if women come on to her, Aubrey responded with, "Oh, yeah. I don’t mind. I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy. Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it." Aubrey also shared a bit about her LGBT-centric family and friend base, which includes a lesbian sister and gay aunt and uncle and several gay friends. Sounds like a pretty great group to us!
Aubrey, who continues to just be one of our favorite people in every way, also discusses the importance of being true to your weirdness. "I felt it was important to inspire people to be their authentic selves by making a fool of myself and not caring what others thought," Aubrey explains, when asked about taking pride in being upbeat, "Even though I have my own insecurities, I’ve always had this mission of disrupting social norms."
You can now catch Aubrey in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, which opens today!
