Kristen Stewart Gets Awesomely Real About Her Sexuality

Kristen Stewart opens up about her sexuality in a new interview, and what she's got to say is pretty rad.

Kristen Stewart is a notoriously private person, but in a new interview withVariety she has some rather personal and wise words to share about her identity. In the last few years, the megastar and indie actress extraordinaire been photographed with girlfriends in public, and she even came out as "not hiding" in a 2015 interview with Nylon. Now, she has even more to share about her sexuality - this time with swear words!

"I’m not hiding shit," Kristen explains in the interview, though she refuses to define herself specifically. She goes on to cite this current wave of young people rejecting labels as an inspiration, stating, "There’s acceptance that’s become really rampant and cool. You don’t have to immediately know how to define yourself."

Kristen also discusses what she believed the consequence of notcoming out might be and how her actions might be seen by those who look up to her. "I felt this weird responsibility, because I didn’t want to seem fearful," she explains, "But nothing seemed appropriate. So I was like, ‘F—k, how do I define that?’ I’m not going to. Plus, I didn’t want to f—k with other people. I didn’t want to be this example: It’s so easy. I don’t want it to seem like it was stupid for them to have a hard time.”

And while she keeps dodging interviewer requests to pick a word in the LGBT alphabet, she does "want to be a part of" the LGBT movement. However, that'll be happening on her own terms, and with her own lack of a letter. "Me not defining it right now is the whole basis of what I’m about," Kristen says, "If you don’t get it, I don’t have time for you.”

As for all those shots of her and same-sex partners, she's totally fine with it. In fact, she wants her fans to see them. "That’s really important to me. As much as I want to protect myself, it’s not about hiding. As soon as you start throwing up so many walls, you cannot see over them yourself, so you just start isolating in a way that’s not honest. I definitely found where I’m comfortable. I don’t take credit for that. Things have really shifted in this wonderful way. I’m reaping the benefits."

We love the honesty, awareness, and self-acceptance Kristen's sharing with the world these days, and we're so happy to see her happy. You go, K-Stew!
