'True Blood's' Top Five Sapphic-esque Scenes

It’s been only three since the summer season typified by that fang-banger with the banging body Sookie Stackhouse and the True Blood crew bid au revoir for another long nine months between seasons but it already feels like the third season ended ages ago. And while True Blood, the small screen brainchild of the wildly creative and openly gay Alan Ball, is loaded with LGBT political allegory and steamy homoerotic encounters, there have been a few memorable Sapphic trysts over the show’s run.

It’s been only three days since the summer season typified by that fang-banger with the banging body Sookie Stackhouse and the True Blood crew bid au revoir for another long nine months between seasons but it already feels like the third season ended ages ago.

And while True Blood, the small screen brainchild of the wildly creative and openly gay Alan Ball, is loaded with LGBT political allegory and steamy homoerotic encounters, there have been a few memorable Sapphic trysts over the show’s run. While the ultimate TB lesbian hook-up would be  if best friends Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Tara (Rutina Wesley) realized they were meant to be together, we’re just going to cross our fingers and hope for a Sookie / Tara Sapphic dream sequence…at the least!

While sites like ranker.com have cherry picked the show’s hottest boy on boy encounters we decided we’d take a look at the  top five girl on girl moments from Evan Rachel Wood’s Queen Sophie-Anne and her human Hadley (Lindsay Haun), to Eric’s right-hand bad-ass vampire Pam (Kristin Bauer) and her Estonian plaything Yvetta.

Pam and Yvetta - "Lie back sweetheart and think of Estonia!"

Early on in the show's third season baby vamp Jessica -- Deborah Ann Woll -- sought advice from the seasoned older vamp Pam. Here, Jessica interrupts Pam, who's busy feeding (as it were).

The greatest True Blood vamp / human love story told on TB is Queen Sophie-Anne and her human Hadley. It's not without problems but what relationship is trouble free?

Nan Flanagan and her Sangre of the Day in the back of a limo: At min. 1:46

Jessica Tuck's Nan Flanagan is like the Kelly Bush (Hollywood publicist)  of the American Vampire League -- a lesbian PR extraordinaire! While Nan's focus is all for full integration of vamps and humans since the True Blood synthetic blood bevvie made it possible for vamps to ethically feed, Nan's human amuse bouche in the back of a limo is interrupted by Vampire King Russell Edgington's -- Dennis O'Hare -- on-air melt-down and murder of an anchorman.

Sookie and Pam: 'There's blood in your cleavage'

In season one Bill (Stephen Moyer) staked a vamp for Sookie's life and honor. Here are Pam and Sookie like two ordinary girls, one a vamp with lesbian tendencies and the other a mind-reading fairy, just having a typical ladies' room chat. Well, save for Pam helping Sookie to get the vampire dregs out of her cleavage.

Pam, Eric and Yvetta: The Minisode Audition

It appears three out of five True Blood lesbian moments include Pam. Anyway, Yvetta's audition to dance at Fangtasia aired only as a minisode on the web but Pam sure has an eye for the casting coffin. Here she is ogling Yvetta!
