SheWired's Fave Lesbian or Lesbian-ish Web Series

When you're sick of TV reruns, turn to the best web series! Here are this summer's best web series to watch. These series boast some of the hottest ladies the lesbians love including Nicole Pacent, Jill Bennett, Cathy DeBuono, Maeve Quinlan, Chelsea Handler, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Rosario Dawson, Lisa Kudrow, and more!

Whether you’re hitting the beach, the pool, or even just the back porch this summer, we know it can be hard to find the time in between barbeques and margaritas to catch your favorite shows. Not to mention, most of the best ones are in rerun season during the summer months anyway. So, where better to turn than to the best Web series featuring women -- some lesbian-themed and others just lesbianish -- for entertainment and eye candy between sunscreen applications?

Check out our top favorites below and get hooked this summer. And we love opinions so be sure to leave yours!

1. Anyone But Me

If the names Vivian and Aster don’t mean anything to you yet, you need to tune in and see what you’ve been missing on this year’s best new lesbian teen drama. Starring Nicole Pacent andRachael Hip-Floresand followingthe lives of a group of diverse high school students in New York, the show is at once sexy, sophisticated, down-to-earth and totally addicting.

2. 3Way

The tag-line says it all: “A web comedy series about a straight woman living with lesbians.” You can only imagine that once you throw in Jill Bennett, Maile Flanigan, Maeve Quinlan, and Cathy Shim, complete hilarity ensues in this clever, crowd-pleasing series.

3. In the Motherhood

Yes, it’s about family life, and moms in particular. Yes, they are straight. But don’t change the “channel” just yet. In the Motherhood, starring Chelsea Handler and Leah Remini is smart, funny, and appealing. It reached such success online that it has now been developed into a series on ABC with Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines. Catch the online episodes this summer so you’ll be all caught up when the TV season begins in the fall. And if you are a mom, this will be double the fun.

4. Cherry Bomb

Do you ever watch The View? Ever get tired of hearing Elisabeth Hasselback spouting her overly-conservative so-called “wisdom” to all of America? Ever think that talk show would be significantly more interesting if all the hosts were lesbians? Welcome to Cherry Bomb. Hosted by four lesbian women, the show covers a different topic each episode – from sex toy etiquette to the phenomenon of the lesbian cougar, with the women each weighing in with their own experiences and opinions. Now in its second season and showing on OUTTv in Canada, it is the best alternative around to all of the straight talk shows on the air.

5. We Have to Stop Now

How many of you see a therapist? Be honest now. I don’t know about you, but here in Los Angeles, I’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t see a shrink. In We Have to Stop Now, Jill Bennett and Cathy DeBuono play Kit and Dyna, respectively, a lesbian couple who are seeing a relationship counselor to work out some of their, uh, issues. Oh, and by the way, Cathy and Jill both play therapists. Therapists going to therapy. Love it. The best part? Their therapist is Suzanne Westenhoefer. Together they capture the awkwardness the comedy and the drama of relationship therapy.

6. Imaginary Bitches

Fresh off her latest stint as All My Children's resident lesbian, Eden Riegel stars in this hilarious, Emmy-award nominated comedy about a woman who invents a group of imaginary friends when all of her real pals shack up with their boyfriends. The catch? Her new fictional friends are all bitches. Quirky and well-cast, the show will keep your attention from beginning to end.

7. Web Therapy

The hilarious Lisa Kudrow plays a, shall we say “timely” therapist, in this web series about a shrink who has decided to maximize her time and minimize her patients’ whining by reducing sessions to 3 minutes a piece. She also meets with them not in person but via webcam. Kudrow, on the show, manages to walk that fine line between annoying and amusing that she mastered back when she was playing Phoebe Buffay on Friends.

8. Epic Fu

Consider yourself a geek at heart? Have an undying love for some band or show or video game? Epic Fu is all about embracing that geekiness and letting it shine. It’s about tuning in to the pop culture of the world today by covering topics like Twitter and Google and gaming and technology. It’s smart, well-made and hosted by the adorable Zadi Diaz. Tune in for a pop culture tune-up today.

9. Gemini Division

Two words for you: Rosario Dawson. Need I say more? And, for all of you science fiction nerds, consider the theme of this show an added bonus. Dawson plays an NYC detective who gets caught up in a very unusual crime when her boyfriend is murdered under suspicious circumstances. Upon further investigation, Dawson uncovers a dangerous and other-worldly group – the Gemini Division – who are on earth posing as humans.
