Did you find a new iPod or MP3 player in your holiday stocking? Are you looking for new content for your old player? More and more podcasts are produced by and for lesbians. We found a dozen that are among the most popular while being informative and fun. And the best news is they're all free.

These podcasts, in no particular order, originate from locations across the country... from the West Coast to the East Coast, to South Florida and even Tennessee. Some provide serious LGBT news and analysis; others are just for fun. All of them provide a connection the diverse lesbian community.

The Lesbian Lounge

Denise and Donna are the hosts of the weekly, two-hour Internet radio talk show they describe as "all things lesbionic." The show is broadcast live on My Lesbian Radio (www.mylesbianradio.com) Wednesdays at 9 pm (ET), with a taped rebroadcast Sundays at noon (ET) and podcasts of the shows can be downloaded from the internet. They offer a lesbian perspective on news, sports, celebrity interviews, movie reviews, drink of the week, and personal ad critiques, and good-natured banter between the two good friends. Guest interviews are a veritable who's who of lesbian-connected entertainment and have included Suzanne Westenhoefer, Cathy DeBuono, Jill Bennett, Jane Lynch, Ilene Chaiken to name a few.

The Lesbian Mafia

The Lesbian Mafia features Sandi, a New York City lesbian, who starts the podcasts with a prank phone call  -- recently she called an anti-gay, conservative religious group, for example. She talks with friends and special guests about her news and views.

Podcasting from opposite sides of the country-Vangie Martinez  is in rural Pennsylvania and Niki Hutson is in the San Francisco Bay area -the women talk about LGBT topics in the news, relationships, family and work.
