Oprah Receives Kennedy Center Honors with Beautiful Tribute from Jennifer Hudson: Video
The all-time diva of daytime and culture maker for the better part of three decades, Oprah Winfrey, was front and center as one of the recipients at the Kennedy Center Honors Tuesday, along with Merle Haggard and Sir Paul McCartney. Doyenne of The View, Barbara Walters joined John Travolta and Chris Rock to pay homage to and to roast Oprah, who just happened to be seated next to First Lady Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama. But it was Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson who blew the tribute out of the water with her soulful rendition of “I’m Here” from the musical of The Color Purple, based on the Steven Spielberg film that nabbed Oprah and Oscar nomination in 1985.
