Been missing The L Word? On Sunday, June 20 at 10 p.m. on Showtime you can get your L Word fix when The Real L Word premieres. This lesbian version of the popular reality shows will follow a group of real Los Angeles lesbians as they live their lives. Think Real Housewives with gay girls.
The new version of the original show, which ended in March 2009 after a six-season run, will be produced by L Word creator Ilene Chaiken and executive produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz.
Described as a "fly-on-the-wall look into the lives of attractive and successful L.A. lesbians," meet the ladies of The Real L Word (clockwise from far left):
- Tracy, 29: Film and TV development executive new to the world of lesbians and struggling with her mother, who's not taking it well, while juggling a career and a new relationship.
- Whitney, 27: Hollywood special effects artist who calls herself a terrible girlfriend and says she is "always looking for love, but losing to lust."
- Nikki, 37: A rep, manager and producer who came out on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She's now engaged and planning her wedding to Real L Word costar Jill.
- Rose, 35: A real estate advisor and a girl about town, who says she wants to settle down, but is having trouble doing that. She's currently in a relationship and has full family support.
- Mikey, 34: Founder of The Gallery Los Angeles and producer of LA Fashion Weekend. She's engaged and planning her wedding while balancing her fiancée, clients and her love of her motorcycle.
- Jill, 33: A writer engaged to costar Nikki who has the support of her family.
