While the music scene for female artists in the States is all about Lilith Fair getting back on the road after a decade-long hiatus, the break-out 24-year-old half-Welsh / half-Greek singer songwriter Marina of Marina and the Diamonds is taking her show on the road in Europe.
Marina Diamandis re-released her single 'I Am Not a Robot' from the album The Family Jewels on Tuesday, and not one to lose any time, she hits the road today.
A very easy on the eyes Marina is quickly gaining rave reviews. Her debut album The Crown Jewels EP was released independently last year and she was runner up to Ellie Goulding in the BBC Sound of 2010 list, the UK music industry's annual predictions for the most promising new talent.
Having been compared to La Roux and Kate Bush - which is some pretty great company to keep -- Marina has said she gained inspiration from artists such as diverse as Madonna and Dolly Parton.

Her single 'Numb' is featured on the Grey's Anatomy promotional trailer on Channel 5 in the UK, which has definitely upped her quotient with the lesbian contingent (girl singer plus navel-gazing docs equals lesbian catnip)!
Marina kicks off her European tour April 29 and runs through August 14. She stops at Radio l's Big Weekend on May 23, and on June 26 she hits up at Glastonbury, the UK's biggest open-air music festival.
Described in The Guardian as "a seriously warped mind in the body of a fox", Marina Diamandis is fast making a name for herself as an artist to watch.
