Jamie and Jessie Are Not Together, the latest feature film project from Hannah Free director and producer Wendy Jo Carlton, is screening around the country on the LGBT film festival circuit! The lesbian romantic comedy, with original musical numbers, is about two young women whose codependent relationship is fraught with erotic tension. The two friends need to figure out how to grow together or grow apart.
Starring Jacqui Jackson and Jessica Landon-Shields, Jamie and Jessie Are Not Together has an original queer voice that is refreshing and entertaining. In addition to musical number from the film, the soundtrack has music from Tegan and Sara, Sera Cahoone, Anomie Belle, Ripley Caine, The Action Design and The Icicles.
Jamie and Jessie Are Not Together has garnered accolades from audiences and critics alike for a cohesive blend of comedy, music and love. So far, the film has screened at Frameline in San Francisco, OFest in Philadelphia and Outfest in Los Angeles. Jamie and Jessie Are Not Together will be screening at North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in Durham on August 12 and 14, Some Prefer Cake Festival in Bologna, Italy on September 24, Pikes Peak Lavender Film Fest in Colorado Springs on September 24, and Out on Film in Atlanta between September 29 and October 6.
