This year Cyndi Lauper is set to headline the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center's "An Evening With Women: Celebrating Art, Music and Equality" fundraiser. The event will take place April 16, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

The star-studded evening presented by Linda Perry and Brent Bolthouse will also feature performances by musician/actress Juliette Lewis, singer/songwriter Cat Power and comedian Sarah Silverman.

In addition to the show the evening includes dinner, a silent auction with travel and entertainment packages and much more. It has become known as the premiere event for lesbians, bisexual women and supporters. Perry and Bolthouse became co-chairs of the event two years ago, and have helped expand the event alongside veteran co-chairs Kelly Lynch and Annie Goto.

Everybody who comes to this event leaves inspired; it is a memorable experience for each individual, Goto says. Every minute of the evening exudes the passion, commitment and celebration that An Evening with Women has come to represent for our community.

Perry  singer/songwriter/producer and CEO of record label Custard Records first became involved with the Center in 2006 and was recognized with the Creative Integrity Award at the event. She will release a new album this month with her own band, Deep Dark Robot.

The Center is doing immensely important work and providing services for women in the community that are vital to their well-being, Perry says. This work must continue and it is an honor for those of us who are able to bring together these amazingly talented artists to raise much-needed funds to support the Center.

"An Evening with Women" benefits the LAGLC's services for women which include legal assistance, domestic violence services, health and mental health services and cultural arts programs. More than $370,000 was raised for these services at last year's event.

To purchase tickets or find out more about the event, visit the "An Evening with Women" website. Individual tickets are $300, and tables for 10 starting at $3,000.
