Taking a cue from Glee stars Matthew Morrison, Darren Criss, and Kristin Chenoweth, we decided to pick the best men for crucial parental parts.
For the last episode of the hit show we got a peek inside Rachel Berry (Lea Michele)’s happy home she shares with her doting gay dads on Glee. Since the pair of Papas were away on the Rosie O’Donnell Family Cruise when (spoiler alert if you haven't seen it) Rachel threw a glee club house party with wine coolers, there’s still been no definitive signs --save a fleeting photo in the pilot -- of who will play Rachel's dads.
While the top contender for one of Rachel’s gay dads is rumored to be Taye Diggs, the real-life hubby of Idinia Menzel, who winningly played the talented Berry’s bio-mom in a five-episode season 1 arc, the Glee stars had a few ideas of their own.
Morrison, who portrays teacher Will Schuester suggested, “Nathan Lane andDanny DeVito,” to The Hollywood Reporter when they asked at theClive Davis pre-Grammy gala.
Glee’s reigning supreme guest superstar, Kristin Chenoweth, had a creative casting idea we just love: “I would like to see an African-American in there,” she told THR. “Maybe Seal? Then the other guy has to be real white… Hugh Jackman?”
Teenage Dream Darren Criss was hard-pressed to pick the perfect parents for Rachel. “I don’t know, I’d want to think about it [because] I’m very meticulous about these things,” he labored before saying, “I'll tell you who I'd love to play someone's grandfather: Christopher Walken! Come to Glee, please!”
