Carol Burnett to Guest as Sue Sylvester's Mama on 'Glee'

First Idina Menzel was cast as Lea Michelle’s mom on Glee and now comic legend Carol Burnett is slated to play Cheerios’ coach Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) Nazi-hunting mother for an episode of the break-out show, according to EW.com.

Burnett joins a growing list of legends in their own right who’ve appeared on the run-away hit of last season, including Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth, Olivia Newton John, Jonathan Groff and Molly Shannon.

The amazing stunt casting as Burnett as Mama Sylvester arrives on the heels of plenty of Glee news at Comic-Con recently, when it was announced that Menzel and Chenoweth would be returning and creator Ryan Murphy confirmed a Rocky Horror themed episode and a Britney Spears episode.

What’s next in Glee casting? If they cast Natalie Portman as Lea Michelle’s Rachel’s long-lost sister that’ll be the topper!

Burnett's episode will air in late October or November - just in time for sweeps.
