The Internet was abuzz early this month when production stills from Disney's upcoming Tim Burton-led adaptation of Alice in Wonderland surfaced, showing Anne Hathaway appearing beyond lovely as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter looking mischievous as the Red Queen.

Mia Wasikowska, who previously starred in HBO's In Treatment, stars as Alice, whose journey through a magical world is filled with an all-star cast along the way: Alan Rickman — who's currently tearing up the boxoffice as Snape in the sixth installment of Harry Potter — is set as the Caterpillar, Michael Sheen voicing the White Rabbit, Stephen Fry voicing the Cheshire Cat and Crispin Glover set as the Knave of Hearts.
Burton's remake is an adaptation that shows that much has changed since Alice's first visit to Wonderland. This time, Alice is 17 and attending a party at a Victorian estate when she learns that she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of socialites when she runs off, following a white rabbit into a hole and winding up back in Wonderland 10 years after her last time there.
Burton, who's teaming with Depp for the seventh time, also reconnects with Carter and Danny Elfman for the score. Linda Woolverton, whose credits include penning Disney's Arctic Tale, Mulan, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, wrote the screenplay.
We don't know about you, but we wouldn't want to be late for our very important date when the film unspools in a mix of 3D and live-action on March 5.
