Shot of the Day: Pretty Little Liars Go Gritty for Winter Promo

Pretty Little Liars fans are chomping at the bit to find out what happens next in not-so-sleepy Rosewood. Thankfully the producers of ABC Family’s breakout guilty pleasure have begun a yearly Halloween episode tradition that gives us fix between the summer and winter seasons but it’s still a long holiday season until the fantastic four is back in action this January 8.

ABC Family has released the first of the winter promo pics and the Little Liars look as though they’re attending the Lisbeth Salander school of how to be a badass. Clearly, they’re not quite there yet, but these Liars are a far cry from the wide-eyed innocents of season one. After murders, blackmail, boyfriends, girlfriends, mental institutions and prison work detail the look in their eyes has definitely changed to the grittier.

Here’s the promo pic of  Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale). For good measure we threw in a bonus solo shot of  Emily the lady magnet of Rosewood looking very biker chick meets 70s' short shorts girl.
