Listen: Meshell Ndegeocello’s Nina Simone Tribute

Acclaimed bi singer/songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello is dedicating her 10th album to the High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone. Titled Pour une âme souveraine (“For a sovereign soul”), the album consists of 14 Nina covers, including classics like “Turn Me On,” “See Line Woman,” and “Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.” Look for collaborations with Sinead O’Connor, Lizz Wright, and Toshi Reagon.
