The Good Wife is currently cherry picking some of the greatest female guest stars in Hollywood. Just within the past few weeks it was announced that Maura Tierney was joining CBS’s critical darling of a legal/political/family drama as the “doyenne of Chicago politics” and then the news came out that Kristin Chenoweth would be playing a political reporter.
Now, Amanda Peet, who recently starred on the very short-lived Bent, will play a military lawyer in a ripped-from-the-headlines multiple story arc, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Peet’s character will become friends with Alicia (Julianna Margulies) after she hires her to sue a contract worker for attempted sexual assault, according to EW.
On television Peet has costarred in a few series that didn’t quite make it including Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Jack and Jill. On the big screen she has appeared in Playing by Heart, Woody Allen’s Melinda and Melinda and Nicole Holofcener’s Please Give with Catherine Keener.
With the additions of Peet, Chenoweth and Tierney The Good Wife continues to be a draw for amazing actresses. The list of actresses who’ve played strong women on the show include Martha Plimpton, Mamie Gummer, Parker Posey, Rita Wilson, Lisa Edelstein, Carrie Preston, Anika Noni Rose, Mary Beth Peil, Elizabeth Reaser, Kelli Giddish, Monica Raymund and Sarah Silverman.
Personally, I can't wait to see Alicia, Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and Peet's character get together to slam tequila shooters at their favorite local bar.
