Katie Couric recalls her sister being abused by a gang of girls and encourages other kids to speak up against bullying.
In the new video to help promote the documentaryBully which debuted on the website CafeMom, Couric encourages children to report bullies to teachers, coaches, friends, and parents. "It's time to take a stand and stop bullying," she says.
While attending a screening of the documentary last week, Couric shared a memory of her sister's childhood experience with bullies. "I know my sister was bullied when she was younger and it was really, really upsetting to our whole family," Couric says. "We still talk about what you do when a whole group of girls gangs up on you. And sometimes talking about it or going to the authorities makes it even worse.
